Cobalt SS Microsite

Back in the day GM Canada used to have little microsites within the larger gm.ca framework.

This was a microsite all about the sporty Cobalt SS Supercharged. All the visuals needed to be captured economically. That meant some time spent in the GM parkinglot on the ground to get these angles. This microsite was coupled with some club events to show off the car to its target market so the microsite was updated with photos from each event.

This was a Flash microsite, as was the style. We used some neat alpha tricks to color in each of the vehicles within the color picker. Still kinda proud of that.

In an attempt to cater to the more mod friendly street community GM Canada geared the microsite for their Cobalt SS Supercharged around the street racing culture. The dark city scene with the cars popping off the backdrop. A music player and design styling that fit with the look and feel with the segment. Content and partnerships with clubs and nightlife rounded out the mix. The Cobalt SS Supercharged microsite was a little place where GM could look like it fit in online.
